Middle School - Curriculum

The school does recognise the fact that children need to become self- reliant and independent learners as they go into middle school. The process of transition begins from Class V onwards. The teacher uses various strategies like peer group learning, co-operative learning, project methods and other different media like theatre and newspapers to facilitate learning. Children are not spoon fed with notes and answers, which probably is the easiest way to make a child learn by rote. However, children are trained in various study skills by the respective subject teachers and this helps the children learn and understand better.

Children from Class VI have files and are taught to maintain and note down the points in these sheets and later file them. This enables them to improve their organizational skills and maintain different files for different subjects. The questions posed in various assignments, tests and exams are high on application, the reason being that we would like to assess how well the child is able to relate the concepts taught to the real world. Assessments vary from small projects in core subjects to book reviews in language classes. From Class VII onwards, children are slowly trained to handle larger portions to make their transition to high school easier.

The subjects taught are I, II and III languages, General Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Art, Environmental Education and Computer Education.

Children have various other activities like Yoga, Life skill classes, Global Awareness Program, Hobby classes and other experiential activities
