Navchetna
Participatory Action Research (PAR) Program
Navchetna, as the name goes, is a novel endeavor by EZ Vidya to research our current
educational practices through Chrysalis. It is a Participatory Action Research process-(PAR)
– a continuous improvement model. This gives the participating teachers an insight
into how they contribute to a child's thinking pattern now and how they have to
change or improve their practices to help the child better.
In the school scenario, PAR aims to systematically inquire into the effectiveness
of Chrysalis, the IT curriculum framework provided to our students. In a typical
PAR program, a question related to pedagogy is taken up. Concrete evidence, related
to the question, in terms of student performance is collected and documented to
substantiate the teacher- researchers’ findings. This is presented to the other
members who suggest possible solutions to the facilitator. The facilitator implements
workable suggestions.
EZ Vidya conducts regular training programs to selected teachers, in the context
of PAR.
These programs provide a common platform for facilitators across the Country to
share classroom experiences providing an opportunity to reflect and improvise upon
current teaching methodologies
