KVPY is a programme initiated by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to encourage students of basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take up research careers in these areas.

The aim of the programme is to identify and encourage talented students with an aptitude for research and ensure that the best scientific talent is tapped for research and development in the country.

Children selected after written and interview rounds are offered generous fellowships up to Pre- PhD level. However this fellowship is meant for Indian Nationals for study in India only. ( www.iisc.ernet.in/kvpy )

Students enrolled in Class XI and have a secured a minimum of 75% in Mathematics and Science in Class X are eligible.
