
The School Campus covers an area of 23 acres. The ICSE campus has spacious layout with separate playground facilities.
It has four levels with separate laboratories for Math, Language and Computer Science at the first level and a full fledged Physics, Biology and Chemistry labs at level 4.
There are two full fledged libraries at the second and third levels. Two spacious audio-visual rooms at level one and level four. An amphitheatre for open air activities is centrally placed.
We have 36 well- equipped large classrooms spread over four levels. All our primary classes run on the first level, classes IV to VII on the second level and classes VIII to X on the third level.
The computer lab is well equipped with over a 50 systems. All the computers are networked through LAN. The general configuration is 256 MB RAM with P4 Processors. All our staff rooms are networked and net-enabled. The use of intranet and internet is optimum. Teachers extensively use Pupilpod, a School Management Software (www.pupilpod.in) developed by Thoughtnet to enter students’ attendance online. Students’ assessment and marks coupled with performance feedback is also done online, moving towards achieving a paperless office. All our circulars are sent via email to our parents through our SIMS.
For the science lab activities, classes 9th and 10th strictly follow the projects and experiments prescribed by the Council for Indian Certificate for Secondary Examinations. Each class is divided into three batches and are allotted each of physics, chemistry and biology lab session on a cyclic basis. Each lab session is of two consecutive periods duration.
Our library is a full-fledged one with a collection of 6477 books on various subjects and fiction. The library provides a number of periodicals, educational journals and dailies. The library is a hub of all school activities. ‘World Reading Day’ is an event looked forward to by students and teachers alike. Story narration for students of primary classes by the librarian is enjoyed eagerly by them. ‘Never Ending Stories’ is a game of solving the puzzle and completing the story which is an activity conducted for children of primary classes which enriches their vocabulary, phonetic skills, increases their capacity in sentence formation and creative skills.
Every class has one library period per week. Books can be borrowed by children from Standard I to Standard X. Book reviews are given by the students when the books are returned by them. These reviews help in improving their vocabulary, build their confidence and motivate others to read the books recommended by their classmates.
We have two art rooms that are used by children for their craft and drawing classes. The school has an ethnically designed pottery room where children of Classes I to V have their pottery classes. Classes VI – IX have pottery as a hobby. The pottery centre is every child's delight where their nimble fingers create exquisite pieces of art. In order to help children know various processes of clay modeling, a kiln has been built and various pieces of art done by the students are baked and given back to the children.
The school has a huge playground where all the important sports activities are conducted. The basket ball court, volley ball court, a foot ball, throw ball and cricket ground will be made available to the students shortly. There is also an indoor games hall for students to train for indoor games. The basement area of the school is used to practice yoga. The little kids will also have an exclusive play area for their swings, slides and sand pit.
The school operates a full fledged canteen and offers meals and snacks to children. Apart from this there is a tuck shop offering certain other items. We operate our canteen on a coupon system that minimizes the children carrying money to school. The school offers nutritious and balanced vegetarian meal for children and this is open to children of classes I to X .Beverages (hot and cold) are available and fresh juices and tetra packed milk is also available for children. As a policy, we don’t sell aerated drinks and chewing gum. Care has been taken to maintain hygiene and regular audit by the school is done to improve the facility. The canteen contractor appointed by the school is Ms Seema Rao.
The school has a first aid centre. If a child is unwell or has had an accident, teachers send the child to the Health Centre and basic medication and first aid is given by an attending nurse. If necessary, hospitalization is arranged with the consent of the parent .If a child is sick and needs to be taken home, the school calls and informs the parents.
Every year, we have a basic medical check up done in the school and if we need parents to further the medical investigations regarding eye, ears and throat and general medical health, a note is sent to them. It is the parent’s prerogative to take it up further.
